YSL Woody apologises to Young Thug: “I’ll never forgive myself”

YSL Woody has been at the centre of controversy for the past few months throughout Young Thug’s RICO trial. The rapper was given a RICO charge in 2022 and has been on trial for it since. A RICO charge means Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisations Act.

Throughout the trial, YSL Woody has acted as a star witness. He confessed to lying to authorities about numerous things in his testimony and even admitted that he made up fake people that he could snitch on. Woody also admitted that he lied to the police in 2015 about a separate incident involving Young Thug.

In a statement, YSL Woody has come clean about making up stories surrounding Thug to get the police off his back. He started by discussing how much the police harassed him with various convictions. “The police kept locking me up for whatever they could,” he said, “Every time I counted the door, the police was on me.”

Woody continued, “They keep bringing up Thug’s name. So what I did was to get ‘em out off me, I said ‘Thug did this. Thug did that. Thug,’ because I knew they were—I knew he didn’t do it.”

It’s clear that Woody has some serious regrets about what he did. In a recently surfaced clip, he apologises profusely for the trouble he has caused Young Thug and states he wishes he could take it back. “The pain, the suffering, everything I’ve caused on him and his family…” he said, “I wish I had the mindset and the strength that I have now.”

He continued, “I’ll never forgive myself. I took him through a process that I never should have took him through. Even though I know I’m not the cause of it, despite how anybody may feel, it’s wrong.”

The apology comes just a few weeks after Woody took to social media to discuss the ongoing trial. He said in a post, “Wrong is wrong we have sympathy for all the victims and their families.” He also touched upon the consequences that people involved could face, “As kids bad choices are made and punishment is acceptable but this is a different story this is corruption this is madness and very personal.”

Thug is still on trial for his ongoing RICO case, which Drake recently posted about and confirmed he believes the rapper is innocent and is currently funding his defence.
