Deputy Sheriff in Young Thug case reportedly arrested for taking YSL bribes
The Young Thug YSL trial has taken another strange turn. The court case, which has been ongoing since 2022, continues to be held up in the system due to complications, and it looks as if it has hit another setback. A Deputy Sheriff of the Fulton County area has been arrested for alleged bribery.
The Deputy Sheriff, 31-year-old Kendra Bailey, was reportedly arrested last week after multiple sources came forward with allegations that she had accepted bribes and, in return, provided drugs and other forms of contraband to individuals in federal custody.
One of the inmates Bailey allegedly accepted a bribe for was Young Thug’s co-defendant Marquavious “Qua” Huey, who, like Thugger himself, is in federal custody with a RICO charge.
The police report released after Bailey’s arrest alleges that “Ms Bailey indirectly received money from inmate Marquavious Huey by accepting $500 from Ms Malissa Huey [Qua’s mother] (via Apple Pay) on May 6th, 2024.”
Furthermore, in relation to Marquavious Huey, Bailey allegedly received $1,000 from the inmate’s sister. However, this bribe was reportedly to give him access to prohibited areas of his prison for the distribution of narcotics. An investigation into the Deputy Sheriff has also concluded that she most likely received $17,000 at a minimum from other trades and bribes with other inmates and their families.
After her arrest, upon further investigation, county officials and law enforcement allegedly found security footage of the 31-year-old using a “white styrofoam meal tray” to conceal the items that she was delivering to inmates. So far, only YSL’s Marquavious “Qua” Huey has been implicated in the investigation.
One section of the report on Bailey reads, “This [investigation] would cause a reasonable person to believe it influenced her job performance because Ms Bailey failed to perform the official action of seizing contraband (e.g., substance appearing to be white pills) from inmate Huey.”
Bailey’s specific charges are two counts of bribery, four counts of oath violation, and two counts of receiving and handing off banned materials to inmates without authorisation.
The Young Thug and YSL RICO case is one of the slowest in the state’s history and continues to break records. During the two years it has been happening, 45 motions for mistrial, alleged collusion, changes in the presiding judge, and prison stabbings have already hampered the legal process.
