Jacksonville woman sentenced to 15 years in prison over Foolio murder

A woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for her involvement in the murder of Foolio.

The Jacksonville rapper (real name Charles Jones II) was killed in the car park of a Holiday Inn in Tampa in June 2024.

According to Fox 13 Tampa Bay, Alicia Andrews was handed 15 years behind bars on May 22nd after being found guilty of manslaughter last year.

Andrews was one of five people convicted, including 23-year-old Isaiah Chance, 20-year-old Sean Gathright, 32-year-old Rashad Murphy, and 29-year-old Davion Murphy.

Earlier this month, the jury spared the others the death penalty, instead recommending life imprisonment.

The four men were tried together, while Andrews was tried separately. Following the verdict, her lawyer, Jeremy McClymont, said that she planned to appeal.

“Miss Andrews’ role is very much minor compared to those of her co-defendants in this case,” he said. “We obviously believe the facts of this case don’t amount to a manslaughter charge.”

Prosecutors claimed that Andrews and her boyfriend, Isaiah Chance, travelled from Jacksonville to Tampa and followed him around the city. They were accused of giving his location to the other men, Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy, who allegedly shot the rapper.

“Perception is not reality,” Andrews’ attorney, Life Malcolm, said before the guilty verdict. “Just because she was there around a group of guys who had bad stuff on their mind, doesn’t mean that she had bad stuff on her mind or was even aware that they did.”

He added, “She was here for a trip with her boyfriend. That’s it and that’s all, and found her herself caught up in a mix of stuff that she was unaware about completely.”
