Tyler, The Creator announces plans for ‘CHROMAKOPIA’ world tour

Earlier this month, Tyler, The Creator made a surprise announcement and shocked fans when he told them via social media that he would be releasing his seventh studio album, CHROMAKOPIA. On October 16th the Odd Future founder teased the album and later that day he confirmed that it would be arriving on streaming platforms on October 28th..

However, the lyricist has gone even further. With the adrenaline of a new album in fans’ veins, the Goblin creator has unveiled that he will be taking the album on a world tour next year.

Named CHROMAKOPIA: THE WORLD TOUR, Tyler, the Creator, alongside Lil Yachty and Paris Texas, will begin his trek in North America, then take the tour to the UK and all of Europe, and finish off the Tour doing shows across Australia and New Zealand. The tour will begin in St Paul, Minnesota, on February 4th and will finish in Perth, Australia, on September 4th.

The tickets for the world tour will go live on November 1st at 10am local time in your area. American Express Cardholders can also purchase pre-sale tickets from October 29th. The announcement of this exciting trek follows the release of Tyler’s latest single, ‘Noid’.

The track, released on October 21st was the longest snippet fans have had yet and gave various clues as to what some of the themes of the upcoming project may be. The video exudes paranoia and stress.

In a segment of the visuals, the faceless, mask-wearing character that Tyler has embodied for this album finds himself in a crowd of angry people while some fans run up to him and hold guns aimed at his face. Others show love and attempt to kiss him. The entire video suggests themes of hysteria, paranoia and perhaps talk of hate and love.

Tyler The Creator fans are far from strangers to conceptual albums. Whether it’s IGOR or Flower Boy, the emcee is always embodying some kind of character to communicate particular feelings and messages.

That said, for many fans the only message that matters is that they will be getting a chance after many years to see Tyler The Creator perform live in their city alongside some incredible artists and no doubt some surprise appearances will be included along the way.
