Tyler, The Creator confirms release date for new album ‘Chromakopia’

Recently, Tyler, The Creator trolled fans asking for a new album. The California artist went on a rant telling followers that he was prioritising acting over music for the time being, saying on social media, “I wanna be an actor LMFAO.”

However, on October 16th, the former Odd Future frontman released a new teaser entitled ‘ST. CHROMA’, which appeared to be the first track of an album rollout campaign. Now, it’s been confirmed the project is set to arrive in less than two weeks.

For the song, Tyler dropped a short music video which showed the word “Chromakopia” at the end. Therefore, fans assumed as the title of Tyler’s next album. Initially, fans focused on how good the videography of the video was.

One user wrote, “Tyler wasn’t kidding when he said he wanted to work in film and cinematography; the production of this teaser is incredible, even though it’s so short.” While another posted, “This gonna be the craziest Tyler album yet. Just this teaser is fire! (literally). Tyler never disappoints.”

Although the upcoming album was an assumption made by fans, now, the emcee has confirmed he will be releasing his full-length project, Chromakapoia, later this month on October 28th. This will be Tyler’s first full-length album since the critically acclaimed Call Me If You Get Lost. The project earned him a Grammy Award for ‘Best Rap Album’. The 2023 follow-up The Estate Sale served as a deluxe version of the original.

From Goblin to IGOR and Flower Boy, when the Ladeira Heights native releases an album he usually receives critical acclaim and has even won two Grammy Awards with his 2021 project, Call Me If You Get Home. Notably, it received the prestigious honour of ‘Best Rap Album’. Additionally, the song ‘Wusyaname’ was also named the ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ of that year.

That said, followers of Tyler are extremely excited about this project. Taking to social media on October 17th, Tyler wrote, “CHROMAKOPIA: october 28th.” One fan responded, “New Tyler New Era. Let’s Fucking Go!” While another wrote, “LIFE IS WORTH LIVING AGAINNNN!”
