Travis Scott lands new Las Vegas residency

Texas rapper Travis Scott is set to begin what has been called a “one-of-a-kind” nightclub residency in the ‘Sin City’ of Las Vegas.

The announcement follows the rapper being caught up in a whirlwind of controversy when, last year, ten of his fans died during the now infamous Astroworld Festival crowd crush tragedy. The incident led to Scott being hit with multiple lawsuits, and he quickly retired from playing live performances as a result of the event.

Despite the rapper coming out as a surprise guest at Rolling Loud Festival in Miami last month and performing briefly at the Billboard Music Awards in May, Scott still seemed unwilling to perform any solo shows.

However, it now seems the rapper is finally back and ready to perform solo live again as he readies himself to headline seven gigs at Zouk Nightclub, part of the famous Resorts World Hotel in Las Vegas.

Scott will begin his new residency on September 17th and will not only be performing his most well-known hits such as ‘SICKO MODE’ and ‘Goosebumps’ but will also be giving exclusive performances of upcoming tracks.

The residency has been entitled ‘The Road To Utopia’, and tickets for the first two performances quickly sold out upon the first sale. Vowing to provide fans with an epic experience, Zouk nightclub has promised to go all out with this new residency by making full use of its high-tech LED lighting system and its shifting ceiling.

In an interview about the rapper’s new residency, Andrew Li, chief executive of Zouk Group, explained how “Travis Scott is a seamless fit for the Zouk Nightclub roster” and declared that “his electric performances will pair perfectly with our immersive atmosphere, bringing our guests an unmatched show unlike anything else they can find in Las Vegas. We can’t wait to kick off his residency and continue to amplify our talent line-up”. Other artists on the roster include the likes of Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.

The news of this residency is undeniably a great relief to fans of Scott, who have been devoid of any intimate solo performances for the better part of six months.

‘The Road To Utopia’ has most definitely excited the rapper’s fanbase, and with additional performance dates and ticket information soon to be announced, who knows what this new residency could bring for the rapper.
