Tory Lanez shares voice message with fans from prison

The disgraced rapper and singer Tory Lanez has recently shared a voice note with fans from behind bars promising new music and assuring the hip-hop community he is far from afraid of the people currently around him.

Earlier this month, the emcee was denied bail after his legal team attempted to file a motion asserting that Lanez did “not pose a danger to the community.” They also tried to label the 2020 shooting as “an isolated incident.” However, the ‘LUV’ musician remains behind bars.

The voice message shared by Lanez has been interpreted differently by various hip-hop media outlets. Some report that in the recording, the artist has revealed he hates his prison and is worried for his safety.

However, others write that he is embracing his newfound life in North Kent State Prison, is scared of no one, and feels good. But the latter has been backed up as an audio of the voice message was recently uploaded by DJ Akademiks.

Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) can be heard saying he feels less tense and unphased by prison. He also passionately gave a shout-out to his fans and thanked them for supporting him during this period.

This recent embrace of prison seems strange to fans. Earlier this month, Peterson’s lawyers stood outside a Los Angeles courthouse proclaiming the lyricist had been “disproportionately sentenced” and seemed eager to get Lanez a shorter sentence.

Although Lanez is not getting released anytime in the near future, he sounds happy to be out of a county jail and in federal prison. At this point, one can only assume he is trying to galvanize his supporters and send an indirect message to Megan Thee Stallion.
