The Weeknd pulled out all the stops at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, with Ariana Grande joining him to perform the chart-topping remix of his single, ‘Save Your Tears’.
The crowd were all masked up at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre while The Weeknd dressed for the occasion in a smart black suit against a vibrant background before Grande came out to join him to perform the blockbuster hit.
The remix of ‘Save Your Tears’ featuring Grande recently hit the top spot in the charts earlier this month and marked the sixth number-one single for both artists.
The Weeknd — real name Abel Tesfaye — was nominated for eight awards at the annual iHeartRadio Awards. The R&B sensation ended up taking home three – including Song of the Year and Male Artist of the Year.
The performance marked the third time Tesfaye played ‘Save Your Tears’ at awards ceremonies this month. It has become a good omen for The Weeknd following his performance at the Billboard Awards, where he won the awards for Top Artist, Top Male Artist and Top R&B Album. Meanwhile, he also performed it at the Brit Awards earlier this month, where he took home Best International Male Solo Artist for the first time.
That snub from the Grammy’s certainly isn’t hurting Tesfaye anymore.
