Judge sets date for Takeoff’s murder trial
A murder trial date has been announced following the death of Takeoff in 2022.
The Migos rapper was shot and killed at 810 Billiards and Bowling in Houston, losing his life at the age of 28.
According to Click2Houston, a judge announced on February 10th that the murder trial had been scheduled for November 9th, 2025, shortly after jury selection on November 5th.
36-year-old Patrick Clark has been accused of killing Takeoff, following an incident at a private party in the 1200 block of San Jacinto. It was hosted by Rap-A-Lot Records founder J Prince’s son, J Prince Jr.
Investigators claim that an argument broke out during or after a dice game involving fellow Migos member, Quavo.
Video footage showed Quavo walking away from the area moments before shots were fired. Takeoff was struck and died at the scene.
Prosecutors claim that Clark pointed and fired a gun at a group of people, with his fingerprints found on a bottle of wine. However, Clark has denied firing the fatal bullets.
Quavo paid tribute to Takeoff in a heartfelt message following his murder. “Me and u knew we gon always be with each other for life and just like now we gon see each other again,” he wrote. ” I love you with all my heart. I’ll never leave you I guess God jus ain’t need my help. So can you ask Him for me what I gotta do to be with you again!!!”
He added, “In a place where there’s no pain, no demons, no jealousy, no envy, no greed. Whatever we have to do God to be at that place of paradise send us the tools now cuz we wanna be with Take. Love you nephew!”
