Police arrest suspect over Takeoff murder

Last month brought the tragic news of the murder of the late Migos rapper Takeoff. Now, police have arrested a suspect over the fatal shooting and look to pursue murder charges.

The 28-year-old hip hop musician, whose real name was Kirsnick Khari Ball was shot and killed at a public bowling alley in Houston, Texas in the early hours of November 1st.

Following a police investigation, a 33-year-old suspect names Patrick Xavier Clark has been arrested and charged with murder. A 22-year-old named Cameron Joshua has also been arrested in connection with the shooting for illegally carrying a firearm.

Police Chief Troy Finner said: “We lost a good man. Hundreds of people I talked to spoke to what a great individual he was.” This was backed up by tributes at the time. As Travis Scott commented: “Forever the space cadet. Forever the rocket, the most humble, the illest 4ever.”

It was believed that the fatal shots were fired after a disagreement broke out over a game of dice. Takeoff was then shot in the head and neck and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

However, the police have since that Takeoff was merely an “innocent bystander” at the bowling alley and wasn’t involved in the volatile dice game. The killer then seemingly fled the scene as police were not immediately able to identify the killer.

Further updates are expected as the charges are brought to court.
