T.I. signs new publishing deal following ‘Kill the King’ album

T.I. has signed a new publishing deal with Reservoir Media.

The Atlanta rapper only released his new album, Kill the King, last month, but he’s already making further moves in the music business.

On July 9th, it was announced that Tip had entered a publishing agreement with the independent New York City-based music company.

Speaking on the deal, T.I. said, “I’m very excited about building a strong partnership with Reservoir as we work together to diversify the business and expand the reach of my catalogue.”

The deal will include his latest album, Kill the King, as well as older projects such as 2006’s King and 2008’s Paper Trail.

Reservoir’s executive vice president of A&R and catalogue development, Faith Newman, also released a statement about the deal.

“T.I. has been dubbed the ‘King of the South’ for putting Atlanta’s rap scene on the map, which helped shape the trajectory of the genre of hip-hop for the past 20 plus years,” she began.

She continued, “His crossover successes and enduring popularity have proven time and again how much his music resonates with fans. It’s an honour to partner with him on continuing to carve out the legacy of these cultural touchpoints he has created.”

Kill the King was released on June 26th. It debuted at number 30 on the Billboard 200 with features from Anderson Paak, The-Dream, T-Pain, Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Summer Walker, NBA YoungBoy, Young Dro, and others.

T.I. has stated that it’s his final album, telling Entertainment Tonight, “I think I have many gifts that God has given me that I can spend more time and attention on, and spend more time at home with my family and my grandchildren. It’s plenty stuff to do.”
