Suge Knight backs Diddy following new assault allegations

Former Death Row executive Suge Knight has recently revealed that he backs Diddy as the Bad Boy founder faces new sexual assault allegations. The support comes as a shock to fans who expected the West Coast native to revel in Diddy’s downfall.

Knight announced his support for Diddy (real name Sean Combs) in the new Tubi documentaryTMZ Presents: The Downfall of Diddy. In the show, Knight speaks from prison about the mogul and reveals that he has a tremendous amount of empathy for him.

While speaking to TMZ, Knight stated that his sadness for Diddy came as a shock to him, unveiling, “My first reaction, it’s not the reaction I thought I would have when it came to Puffy. I thought it’d be a reaction like he got what he got coming ’cause everybody knows what’s been going on.”

He continued, “My reaction was actually different because the first thing that came to my mind was: he has his sons, he has his daughters. My reaction was first about the kids. The thing is, I feel it’s a bad day for hip-hop. It’s a bad day for the culture because it makes us all look bad.”

Despite having had a serious beef with Diddy in the 1990s, Knight expressed that he never likes to see anyone in hip-hop suffer, especially in such a public manner. Explaining how he doesn’t rejoice in the demise of his enemies, Knight added,

“I’m not the type of guy to cheer for other people’s downfall. If somebody got killed or something happens to them, then I’m not going to pop champagne bottles. If I have a problem with Puffy, that’s for he and I to sit down in a room and resolve it.”

However, Knight also clarified how he feels for the victims caught up in the scandal, stating, “So for the tragedy on both sides, to the victims, to him, that’s definitely nothing to cheer about.”

Although he insisted that he has a great deal of empathy for Diddy, Knight has taken numerous shots at the Bad Boy founder since the torrent of sexual assault allegations began and even made some allegations about Diddy’s conduct himself.
