Diddy claims sexual assault charges should be dropped

Amid recent accusations of multiple sexual assault charges, Diddy has come forward to say that any charges surrounding his relationship with Joi Dickerson-Neal should be thrown out.

Dickerson-Neal had previously come forward regarding her relationship with the hip-hop mogul. When discussing her time with him, she alleges that the rapper had attacked and sexually assaulted her in the 1990s and had filmed most of the proceedings as an act of revenge porn.

In a statement he released, a spokesman for the rapper has asked that the charges be dropped, telling Associated Press, “This last-minute lawsuit is an example of how a well-intentioned law can be turned on its head. Ms. Dickerson’s 32-year-old story is made up and not credible. Mr. Combs never assaulted her and she implicates companies that did not exist. This is purely a money grab and nothing more”.

Since Dickerson is alleging that the rapper filmed the act as a form of revenge porn, Diddy’s lawyers argued that the case be dismissed, as the New York State Revenge Porn Law hadn’t gone into effect until 2019, 25 years after the events were alleged to have taken place.

Then again, this is far from the only charge that Diddy has had placed on him. In early 2024, both of the rap star’s houses in Florida and California were raided, in what was believed to be a case of human trafficking happening on the property.

The defence also motioned for the accusations surrounding human trafficking to be thrown out as well, arguing that it falls out of the jurisdiction of the New York Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Law, which went into effect in 2007.

Diddy has also been given another suit against him by producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones, who claims that he was sexually assaulted by Diddy and that he had taken part in a widespread drug and human trafficking ring. This included various parties put on by Diddy where all of the drinks were laced with illegal substances.

This a developing story.
