Soulja Boy threatens Drake following ‘Super Soak’ diss
Streamer Kai Cenat recently provided a glimpse at an upcoming collaboration between Lil Yachty and Drake, in which the rapper took aim at Soulja Boy. Now, the ‘Crank That’ rapper has responded to the diss.
Earlier this month, Soulja Boy took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Drake’s “weak ass” string of collaborations, declaring, “You disappointed me.” Not long after, a first glimpse at ‘Super Soak’, a collaboration between Drake and Lil Yachty, was unveiled on Kai Cenat’s stream.
In the track, Drake made a subtle dig at Soulja Boy, referencing the lyrics to ‘Crank That (Soulja Boy)’, in which he repeats the line, “Supersoak that, oh.” Drake also referenced Soulja Boy’s record label, Stacks on Deck, in the line, “I’m watching the moves, playing it close, S.O.D., super soak.”
Soulja Boy responded to the diss in an Instagram Live, beginning, “And Drake, you up here talking about some S.O.D. super soak. Boy, stop playing wit me, boy. That better be a fucking shout-out.”
The rapper also joked about Drake losing his feud with Kendrick Lamar, adding, “How the fuck you let Kendrick Lamar cook your ass. And then the first thing you respond is you tryna come at me.”
“You better keep that shit light, my boy,” he warned, “This is your first and only warning. This not gon’ be the best idea for you, family.”
Soulja Boy isn’t the only artist Drake is currently feuding with. During his back-and-forth beef with Lamar, the Canadian rapper has taken aim at a number of other huge names including Pharrell Williams, the Weeknd, and A$AP Rocky, prompting responses and reactions from across the hip hop community.
Lil Wayne is the most recent name to join the conversation, seemingly dissing Drake on his new track ‘Saturday Mornings’. “It fit me like a glove, OJ Hand,” he sings, in an image some believe references the artwork for ‘6:16 In LA’. He also raps about needing “more real prayers and less praying hands,” possibly invoking the image of the logo for ‘6 God’.
Drake is yet to respond to Lil Wayne’s potential diss. Though the feud between Drake and Lamar seems to have quietened down a little, DJ Akademiks recently suggested that the beef is “really not over,” anticipating sneak disses. “Matter of fact, I won’t even tell y’all what I heard,” he teased, before stating that he couldn’t wait to hear Drake’s first diss.
