Snoop Dogg offers support to David Beckham amid feud with his son
Snoop Dogg has shared his thoughts on David Beckham’s feud with his son, Brooklyn.
The Long Beach rapper has known David for two decades, following the footballer’s move to LA Galaxy in the late 2000s.
Brooklyn called out his family in an Instagram post earlier this year, alleging years of press control and coercion.
During a recent interview with Closer, Snoop opened up about the importance of family to David and how it beats every career achievement.
“David’s my boy – we’ve known each other for over 20 years,” he began. “But despite all he’s achieved, there isn’t anything as important to him as his family. We’ve spoken a lot about fatherhood, and we do our best – but no father is perfect. We all make mistakes, but there always has to be forgiveness.”
He continued, “He knows he can reach out to me anytime he wants. Over the years, we’ve often spoken about our kids – but he wants to handle this business privately. If he confided in me, it would stay confidential.”
After extending his hand to David, Snoop said he hopes they can figure things out, while admitting he “wouldn’t like it” if one of his children dissed him in the public eye.
“I think things can change for the better when there’s open dialogue and honesty,” he said. “That’s what I’ve always encouraged with my kids: if you’ve got something to say, then tell me – even if it’s hard to hear. We have to let our kids choose their own paths.”
He added, “But parenting is just about showing up and your kids knowing you’re there for them, no matter what. I made mistakes, and my family still loved me, and I’ve got to show the same to my kids.”
