Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ son takes control of his father’s Instagram
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has only been active on social media once since his arrest in September. The Bad Boy founder broke his silence on October 15th when he took to Instagram for the first time after being charged to wish his daughter a happy second birthday.
In the caption to a series of photographs of his youngest child, Combs wrote, “Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday, baby Love! Happy Birthday to you!!” Another read, “Happy Birthday @loveseancombs daddy loves you 🎂🎉🎈.”
However, Combs’ son, Christian, has now taken control of the entertainer’s social media, including his Instagram. That said, he has decided to make a series of posts to remind the public of his father’s “positive” attributes and display all that he has done for Black culture.
Combs has been extremely quiet in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre as he awaits his trial in 2025. However, his children have not been so quiet and continue attracting criticism for consistently appearing publicly.
On November 6th, Christian Combs posted a clip of himself in which he says, “Yo, wassup y’all? It’s King Combs. And right now, I’m taking over my pops’ Instagram. We gonna be posting videos, spreading good energy and taking y’all down memory lane of all the positive things he did.” He added, “So stay tuned and watch this, let’s go. We love you, pops. Happy Birthday!”
Earlier this week, Combs celebrated his 55th Birthday. On the day, Christian uploaded the 1997 hit, ‘It’s All About The Benjamins’, featuring The LOX, Lil Kim and Biggie Smalls. Christian captioned the post: “My Pops motivation to making music is always to make us dance and feel good. HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPS !!!”
The responses to the decision have been mixed with one user writing, “How you think restarting this Instagram account is a good idea is beyond me. Poor judgment runs in Diddy family, I guess!” While another passionately wrote, “Anyone who has a heart would do the same for their parents when they are at their lowest. These are his kids, do you expect them to abandon him? Doing this for their father, keeps hope alive for them as well.”
Many people are uncomfortable with the Combs attempting to present their father in a good light, as some perceive it as inconsiderate to those who have brought forward lawsuits who are potentially reviving trauma from their past. Although many people are unhappy with the Combs family’s decision, it appears Christian will continue to update his father’s Instagram account.
