Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs breaks silence following arrest
Since floods of allegations began coming his way, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has remained silent. All communication from him has been through his attorneys and legal team. However, he has now broken his silence recently by posting on Instagram.
Since his indictment and arrest in New York on September 17th, the Bad Boy has remained behind bars in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre. Despite numerous appeals for bail by his attorneys, the mogul has been deemed a flight risk, which means he will stay in prison for the foreseeable future.
The rapper was arrested on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transporting for prostitution. However, despite the allegations that continue to be levelled against the emcee, he has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
He hasn’t been overtly emotional when attending court hearings, but he was on suicide watch for a short time. Still, Combs recently took to Instagram for the first time after being charged, and his post was to wish his daughter a happy second birthday.
In the caption to a series of photographs of his youngest child, Combs wrote, “Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday baby Love! Happy Birthday to you!!” Another read, “Happy Birthday @loveseancombs daddy loves you 🎂🎉🎈.”
Combs is still in federal custody, and it is unknown when his official trial is going to be, although it will take place at some point in May 2025. That said, he could face up to 15 years to life in prison if found guilty on all charges.
In addition to his primary federal case, which is currently in custody, Combs is also receiving allegations in civil lawsuits, most of them filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, who is representing over 100 clients regarding alleged crimes perpetrated by the producer.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Combs could potentially face new lawsuits from around 120 people accusing the rapper of sexual abuse and assault – including 25 minors.
Recently, while he was in jail, a new accusation regarding Diddy’s alleged arson attack on Kid Cudi’s car was unearthed by the Los Angeles City Fire Department. Combs has not yet commented on the arson allegations.
Combs previously denied all accusations of wrongdoing following his arrest. On September 16th, his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo said: “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation, and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts.”
