Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ New Jersey prison release date moved forward
Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs’ prison release date has been moved up once again.
The Bad Boy rapper is currently serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in October 2025.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Combs will now be released on February 23rd, 2028, instead of April 15th, 2028.
When asked to comment on the change of release date, the Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to comment, stating it does “not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual, including release plans.”
The release date has changed several times since he was sentenced, with his initial release date set for June 4th, 2028. It was later changed to April 25th.
Combs’ legal team have been pushing for his freedom, appealing his prostitution conviction and asking to be released from prison. In March, they claimed that Judge Arun Subramanian punished the rapper for crimes that he was cleared of, alleging his sentence is four times longer than normal for Mann Act convictions.
As a result, they requested Combs’ “immediate release and to grant a judgment of acquittal or at least vacate and remand for resentencing.”
Combs is currently located at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey after previously being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Speaking on prison life in November 2025, he said, “There’s a lot of misinterpretations about prison. There is a strong brotherhood. We all look out for each other. It’s nothing but a positive thing. It’s like a little bit of home in a dark place.”
