Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs appeals conviction and demands immediate prison release
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has appealed his prostitution conviction and is asking to be released from prison.
In October 2025, Combs was sentenced to four years and two months behind bars after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
He faced a total of five counts, with the jury acquitting him of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
According to TMZ, the rapper’s legal team filed an appeal on March 13th, claiming that Judge Arun Subramanian punished him for crimes that he was cleared of. His legal team allege that the sentence is four times longer than normal for his Mann Act convictions.
Lawyers described his punishment as a “perversion of justice,” accusing Subramanian of engaging in the practice of increasing punishment based on rejected allegations.
They claim Subramanian acted as a “13th juror” by concluding that Combs coerced, exploited, and forced his girlfriends.
As a result of their allegations, they want Combs’ “immediate release and grant a judgment of acquittal or at least vacate and remand for resentencing.”
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Combs will be released slightly earlier than scheduled. The Federal Bureau of Prisons’ website stated that he would be a free man on April 25th, 2028, instead of the original planned date of June 4th, 2028.
Combs is currently imprisoned at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. He was previously held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn prior to his sentence, before being transferred in late October last year.
