Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs allegedly made collaborators sign NDAs for studio sessions
Earlier this month, it was reported that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs allegedly gave a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) contract to everyone who attended his parties and reported “freak offs”, and now more details have emerged.
The initial allegations, first made by hip-hop media outlet TMZ, insisted that it was standard practice and alleged that the document guests were reportedly made to sign prohibited anyone who attended the party from sharing details with anyone who could potentially leak critical information.
That said, it has now been reported that the NDA, which also allegedly forced guests to remain hush about “Artists, Artist parties, and or Artist business activities, entertainment activities, financial affairs and or [Diddy’s] personal life”, was given to anyone who wanted to get him in the studio for a simple collaboration.
According to information obtained by The Neighbourhood Talk, the documents were given to anyone who sought to do business with Combs in any capacity, even if it was strictly related to music. This new claim has led fans to make assumptions and question what those who collaborated with him may have seen when they were in the studio, adding a whole new dimension to an already complicated and messy mix of allegations.
A segment of the alleged NDA reads, “The terms of this agreement and duty to keep all information confidential and not use Prohibited Material shall commence on the first date above and continue for the life of Artist plus 20 years or seventy (70) years.”
It also insisted that signees could not record, photograph, or film Combs or his crew without prior written permission. The Neighbourhood Talk’s claim has made people ask the critical question, “What was Combs doing in the studio that made an NDA necessary?”
Fans have seen videos of Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, and Jay-Z in the studio, and until now, they have assumed that everyone uses the music-making facility to purely make music.
However, this being cast into doubt has created many problems. That said, The Neighbourhood Talk show is not exactly renowned for its accuracy. Still, the hosts have claimed multiple sources can confirm its validity.
With allegedly certified documents hitting fans almost monthly, Combs’ attorneys have insisted it is highly unfair to try him when misinformation is being disseminated regularly. In October, Combs’ legal team, headed by Marc Agnifilo, insisted, “Mr. Combs has a constitutional right to a fair trial, free from the influence of prejudicial statements in the press.”
The statement continues, “As the Court is aware, Mr. Combs has been the target of an unending stream of allegations by prospective witnesses and their counsel in the press… These prospective witnesses and their lawyers have made numerous inflammatory extrajudicial statements aimed at assassinating Mr Combs’ character in the press.”
However, unconfirmed allegations and documents continue to circulate the internet, and it looks like the New York court has no interest in shutting the case down ahead of the trial in 2025.
