Ray J shares worrying suicidal message following BET awards fight
R&B singer Ray J was a big name in the early-2000s. However, since the 2010s, he has received more attention for his involvement in Kim Kardashian’s sex tape than he has for his music and now, people are fearful he wants to commit suicide.
The vocalist got into a fight after the BET awards at an afterparty and shortly after took to social media to admit that he was suicidal. This caused a significant amount of alarm and has seen a swell of emotional support from his fans.
In his post, Ray J highlighted the fight that occurred near LA’s Peacock Theatre, writing, “The s**t that. Is Happening is mind-blowing – it’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with the perception of reality!”
Uploaded in the early hours of July 1st, Ray explained that the brawl occurred at GloRilla’s afterparty. Ray J has appeared on several reality TV shows, including Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, and has been featured on the Zeus network. That said, it was a television executive with whom he was fighting.
Several bodyguards were holding him back, and at one point during the night, he charged into a crowd in an attempt to jump one of the Zeus network executives. However, although Ray J did throw a few blows, they didn’t land on anyone.
After the scrap, his team convinced him to get into their vehicle, and they drove off without further incident. Although Ray J has dabbled with reality TV, he is a musician at heart. Unfortunately, he was also frustrated that BET blocked him from attending the award show.
Ambiguously aimed at an establishment or individual, Ray J posted, “THEY PAID ME TO SHUT UP AND I DID! I FEEL BAD AND HATE MYSELF FOR IT! I DON’T WANT ANYMORE OF YOUR DIRTY MONEY!!”
He also scarily wrote goodbye and apologised to his famous sister, Brandy, and promised, “I will make it right, I won’t let them get away with it!” Many have suggested that the “dirty money” was aimed at the Kardashian family, while others have insisted it was aimed at BET and Zeus.
This is not the first show of suicidal thoughts; in 2022, Ray J made several posts talking about suicide as he was sitting on a ledge of a Los Angeles hotel. You can watch the Zeus CEO Lemuel Plummer and Ray J fighting in the video below.
