PR manager advises celebrities to settle lawsuits relating to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs has become a notorious figure since Cassie Ventura filed her lawsuit against him in November last year, and the allegations against him continue to roll in. He is currently being detained in Brooklyn after being charged with sex trafficking and racketeering ahead of a criminal trial in 2025.
That said, because of the allegations against Combs, other celebrities have been advised to remove themselves from him and play down their previous association with him. Avid followers of’Combs’ case are curious about the potential involvement of other celebrities, and whether other notable names will be named in the legal filings.
Therefore, PR specialist Evan Nierman has urged any A-listers who know they have been anonymously referenced in a lawsuit to settle with the claimant out of court to ensure that when anonymous names are made public, they are no longer part of the lawsuit.
Several of the cases filed reference well-known celebrities whose identities have been made anonymous for legal reasons. Many of the lawsuits allege that they were present at parties, and some even claim they attended the “freak-offs.”
A recent case asserted that two unnamed celebrities colluded with Combs. As such, Nierman suggested that any A-lister who believes that their name could appear in a lawsuit should “cut a cheque,” which means settle out of court and ensure an amendment is made removing them from the document.
Nierman has highlighted what is known to many: that the Bad Boy mogul’s reputation has been completely destroyed by the charges he faces. He, therefore, suggested that being mentioned alongside Combs at this point could end a person’s career, even if they have committed no crime.
Numerous celebrities have already gone out of their way to distance themselves from the producer in recent months, and Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, who has brought many of the civil cases against Combs, claimed in October that high-profile figures are already purposefully settling out of court so that their names are not named in impending lawsuits.
Although many have taken action by settling out of court, Nierman suggested that some A-listers who haven’t may be named in the near future and theorised that several celebrities will see huge damage done to their careers as a result.
Nierman spoke with TMZ shortly after Tony Buzbee filed six new lawsuits, four of which were from male accusers. One alleges that Combs sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl. Another claims the producer sexually assaulted an unnamed 16-year-old at a White Party in 1998.
In response to the claims, the Press Play creator’s legal team released a statement professing, “Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone. Adult or minor, man or woman.”
Combs is set to face trial in May, 2025. He denies all accusations of wrongdoing, and plans to plead not guilty to all of the charges.
