Post Malone announces the release of his new album
Texas emcee Post Malone has announced that he plans to release a new album this year entitled F-1 Trillion. Taking to social media, the ‘Rockstar’ lyricist revealed that the project will arrive on August 16th and urged fans to pre-save the album.
The album’s artwork was revealed on a billboard in Nashville, where the hip-hop turned country artist now makes much of his music. The album’s tracklist hasn’t been revealed. However, it is understood by many that this project will hear more country than rap.
This announcement has arrived after the release of a series of country singles and collaborations with vocalists. Earlier this year, Post Malone (real name Austin Post) performed a cover of the iconic Hank Williams track ‘Honky Tonk Blues’ as a surprise guest at Bobby Bones’ Million Dollar Show in Nashville.
Post also performed an entirely country set in April at the Stagecoach Festival in California. During his performance, fans got a surprise appearance from singer West Virginia vocalist Brad Paisley. The two then duetted as they sang the latter’s 2002 song ‘I’m Gonna Miss Her’, as well as Vince Gill’s ‘One More Last Chance’ and Alan Jackson’s ‘Chattahoochee’.
Last year, Post Malone surprised fans with the release of his fifth studio album, Austin. However, following its release in July, he failed to produce any ore material. However, this May he came back with his first single since Austin as he debuted the song ‘Never Love You Again’ while performing at the Country Music Awards.
Following the epic performance, he began releasing tracks again and dropped ‘Pour Me A Drink’ with Blake Shelton. In a 2022 interview with radio host Howard Stern, Post explained his transition into country, stating, “To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album and putting it on fucking YouTube.”
This next album may be a disappointment to those early Post Malone fans who fell in love with his SoundCloud rap style of music. However, those who prefer his country performances may welcome this attest announcement.
