Pooh Shiesty’s kidnapping trial date pushed back to 2027

Pooh Shiesty will have to wait even longer for his trial after it was pushed back.

The Memphis rapper, behind ‘Back in Blood’ with Lil Durk, is currently behind bars after being accused of robbing and kidnapping Gucci Mane in January.

According to XXL, Senior United States District Judge David C Godbey officially postponed the trial on June 5th, which was set to begin on July 6th, 2026.

“The failure to grant a continuance in this case would deny defendant’s counsel the reasonable time necessary for effective preparation taking into account the exercise of due diligence,” the ruling read.

He continued, “By taking into account the exercise of due diligence by defence counsel, a continuance of the duration granted by this order is necessary for effective preparation by defence counsel.”

The trial, involving Shiesty, his father, and fellow rapper Big30, is now scheduled to begin on February 22nd, 2027, with the final pretrial conference set for February 17th, 2027.

Both Shiesty’s father and Big30 were recently released from jail, while Shiesty remains behind bars after being denied pre-trial release.

In total, nine people were arrested in April for an alleged “armed takeover” to force Gucci to release Shiesty from his record deal, which involved a door being barricaded.

US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould, said, “[Shiesty] produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint. “

He added, “The remaining conspirators displayed firearms and robbed the other victims of Rolex watches, jewellery, cash and other high-value items. One of the victims was actually choked by one of the victims to near-unconsciousness.”
