Pooh Shiesty arrested for kidnapping Gucci Mane at gunpoint

Pooh Shiesty has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and robbing Gucci Mane at gunpoint.

On April 2nd, the Department of Justice announced that 26-year-old Shiesty (real name Lontrell Williams Jr), his father, Lontrell Williams Sr, and fellow rapper Big30 (Rodney Lamont Wright Jr) were among eight people arrested.

According to Billboard, the alleged violent incident took place in Dallas on January 10th. A ninth person is set to be arrested “soon.”

In a press conference, US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould, stated that three people went to a music studio to discuss Shiesty’s record deal, which turned into an “armed takeover.”

“Williams Jr produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint,” Raybould said. “The remaining conspirators displayed firearms and robbed the other victims of Rolex watches, jewellery, cash and other high-value items. One of the victims was actually choked by one of the victims to near-unconsciousness.”

A co-conspirator of Shiesty’s allegedly barricaded the door so that the victims couldn’t leave the building.

Raybould added, “For anyone contemplating using violence and intimidation as a business practice, I’m here to tell you that it will be vigorously investigated and prosecuted in the Northern District of Texas.

The news comes just one day after FBI agents raided the family home of Shiesty in Cordova, Tennessee.

Shiesty is signed to Gucci’s 1017 label, releasing his debut album, Shiesty Season, in 2021. The Memphis rapper signed to Gucci in 2020 in a joint venture with Atlantic Records.

Speaking on Gucci as a mentor, Shiesty once told The Knockturnal, “I don’t want nobody else, I couldn’t name nobody else. He don’t tell me nothing wrong, he knows what shoes I’m in so his advice be valuable.”
