New photo of Pooh Shiesty surfaces in Texas jail
A new photo of Pooh Shiesty has surfaced from behind bars.
The Memphis rapper is currently located at Kaufman County Jail in Texas after being arrested in April and charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, robbery, and theft.
Now, a few months after police took Shiesty into custody, a new image has appeared online, which shows the rapper showing off his grills in prison clothing.
Shiesty is accused of robbing and kidnapping Gucci Mane at a recording studio in Dallas to release him from his contract. His father and fellow rapper Big30, among others, were also allegedly involved.
On May 8th, Shiesty pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. In a statement, his lawyers said, “We are awaiting a scheduling order from the court. Although we have not seen all of the evidence in the case, it is apparent that it’s a highly defensible case and we’re hoping to have [Shiesty] back in the recording studio very soon.”
US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould, described the incident as an “armed takeover” involving a door being barricaded.
“[Shiesty] produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint,” he said. “The remaining conspirators displayed firearms and robbed the other victims of Rolex watches, jewellery, cash and other high-value items.”
He added, “One of the victims was actually choked by one of the victims to near-unconsciousness.”
Both Shiesty’s father and Big30 have been released on bail, while Shiesty remains behind bars after his request was denied.
The trial is set to take place on February 22nd, 2027, having been pushed back from July 2026.
