Pooh Shiesty’s lawyer disputes details in alleged Gucci Mane kidnapping

The lead attorney for Pooh Shiesty has claimed that the rapper didn’t print out his record contract before Gucci Mane was allegedly kidnapped.

The Memphis rapper was arrested earlier this month for allegedly robbing and kidnapping his label boss.

Shiesty is accused of forcing Gucci to sign a contract to release him from his record deal at gunpoint, but his lawyer says otherwise.

Prosecutors have claimed that Shiesty went to a Staples store to print out documents involved in their “armed takeover.”

During an appearance on Sidebar with Jesse Weber, his lawyer, Bradford Cohen, disputed their claims.

“I don’t even care if they’re at Staples,” he said. “They are going to a recording studio. Normally, my clients usually print off the lyrics for different individuals. If you have five individuals that are going to be on one record, and they each have a section or a part, they’ll usually print those things off.”

He continued, “We have to create the defence and create a way to make sure that [the government] is held to their burden. So, it doesn’t matter what they say. It matters what they have.”

In a statement, US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould, said, “[Shiesty] produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint.”

He added, “The remaining conspirators displayed firearms and robbed the other victims of Rolex watches, jewellery, cash and other high-value items. One of the victims was actually choked by one of the victims to near-unconsciousness.”

Not only that, but the door was allegedly barricaded to prevent the victims from leaving the recording studio.
