Pooh Shiesty’s ex-lawyer slams Texas prosecutors over leaked Gucci Mane video
The lawyer who previously represented Pooh Shiesty has slammed prosecutors for leaking footage of the alleged Gucci Mane incident.
Shiesty is accused of robbing and kidnapping Gucci at gunpoint in January, with prosecutors claiming his father, rapper Big30, and others assisted him.
This week, a clip surfaced that seemingly shows Gucci trying to leave a confrontation. Another person appears to display a gun as Shiesty pushes Gucci to state that he’s releasing him from his contract.
Following the video leak, his ex-attorney, Bradford Cohen, has reacted to the video going viral across social media.
“I think it’s pretty nasty work that there are leaks coming from the US Attorney’s office in Texas,” he said. “On evidence that they feel will benefit their case. Of course, they’re not leaking evidence that will not benefit their case.”
He added, “It does not negate my argument – my legal argument that I made at the bond hearing – of whether or not this is a kidnapping case. The legal definition of federal kidnapping does not meet this.”
Shiesty and the others are set to go to trial in February 2027. The Memphis rapper remains behind bars in the Kaufman County jail after being denied bail.
“The benefit that they are having in this video is allegedly his getting out of a contract, which he never got out of and never used,” Bradford said. “Nothing ever happened from it. So it does not change my argument that this is a federal kidnapping charge.”
He continued, “They didn’t prove anything with the cellphones that they allegedly used. All of these different things are out of the federal realm of charging a crime.”
