Pooh Shiesty accused of paying men $5,000 to rob and kidnap Gucci Mane in Dallas
Pooh Shiesty allegedly paid men $5,000 to rob and kidnap Gucci Mane.
The Memphis artist was arrested in April alongside seven other people, including his father, Lontrell Williams Sr, and fellow rapper Big30.
According to XXL, codefendant Terrance Rodgers recently requested a detention hearing, with the prosecution filing a response on July 14th.
As part of the legal filing, they pointed out his alleged criminal history and claimed that he and the others arrested were paid for the Gucci encounter.
“Rodgers did not participate in this offence based on pure altruism alone,” they wrote in the documents. “Instead, Rodgers appeared to have been compensated for his role.”
Prosecutors also displayed photos of Rodgers flashing money and showing off a watch that was allegedly stolen from a Gucci affiliate.
Not only that, but they included a message from Rodgers’ phone, which appeared to show that they were paid $5,000. The text message reads, “Stupid bitch ass n*gga yo whole crew full of lames n*gga paid y’all 5K a piece for a 15mill hit y’all some suckas.”
The incident allegedly took place at a Dallas studio in January, with the group of men accused of holding Gucci at gunpoint in an attempt to force him to release Shiesty from his contract.
US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould, claimed that “[Shiesty] produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint.”
Raybould added, “The remaining conspirators displayed firearms and robbed the other victims of Rolex watches, jewellery, cash and other high-value items. One of the victims was actually choked by one of the victims to near-unconsciousness.”
