Offset sued over $100,000 Detroit casino tab
Offset has been hit with a lawsuit from a Detroit casino while recovering from a shooting.
The Migos rapper was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida earlier this week, but is facing legal action from MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit.
According to TMZ, a lawsuit claims Offset borrowed $100,000 from the casino, opening a credit line during a night of gambling in March 2024.
The MotorCity Casino Hotel claims they couldn’t reach Offset, forcing them to attempt to withdraw money from his account. Although both parties allegedly agreed when he opened the credit, there wasn’t enough money in his account to repay them.
Offset has been sued for fraud and breach of contract, but a representative for the rapper says that he is “working towards a resolution.”
The lawsuit comes just three days after he suffered gunshot wounds in Hollywood, Florida. Offset was rushed to the hospital at around 7pm on April 6th and received medical care, with the 34-year-old reportedly in stable condition.
A source told People, “Right now it looks like he’s going to be OK. He’s at Memorial Regional Hospital and is not in the ICU.”
Two people were arrested following the incident. In a statement, Seminole Police said, “We are aware of an incident that occurred at a valet area after 7pm Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.”
It continued, “Seminole Police were on site immediately, and the situation was contained quickly. Two individuals have been detained by police. The investigation is ongoing. The site is secure and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal.”
In the days following the incident, Offset was spotted at the hospital in a gown while smoking cigarettes.
