
NBA YoungBoy fans arrested after film screening in North Carolina
Seven NBA YoungBoy fans were arrested over the weekend following a screening of his new documentary.
The Baton Rouge rapper released his new film, American YoungBoy, on April 22nd, which proved to be a box office success in its first week.
According WRAL, seven juveniles were detained in Raleigh, North Carolina, on April 25th at Regal Cinemas at North Hills.
Videos surfaced online of kids singing and dancing in the aisles and at the front of the cinema. According to one person on TikTok, the cinema staff kicked them out of the screening.
Law enforcement were called at around 8pm to attend to a large crowd that appeared to be fighting.
Radio traffic said, “Approximately 20 people fighting in the Chick-Fil-A and the movie theatre. I guess there is a violent group that’s out here. They’re not actually fighting. One guy is acting like he has a gun.”
Despite the arrests, the Raleigh Police Department stated that the seven people were released to their parents.
YoungBoy’s cinema release serves as a documentary film for his Make America Slime Again Tour, which took place in 2025. The tour was made up of 42 sold-out shows across North America, with the rapper performing up to 48 songs a night.
American YoungBoy debuted at number 10 on this week’s box office total, earning $1.2 million. Rolling Stone reported that viral clips of rowdy screenings played a big role in its success at the box office.
American YoungBoy is positioned at number 10 this week behind Michael, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Project Hail Mary, Lee Cronin’s Mummy, The Drama, Hoppers, You Me and Tuscany, Over Your Dead Body, and Mother Mary.
