NBA YoungBoy announces first ever headline tour following prison release
Louisiana rapper NBA YoungBoy has announced his first-ever headlining tour, which will hit 27 cities.
After five years away from the stage, the Billboard-charting rapper will hit the road with DeeBaby, EBK Jaaybo, and K3. The tour kicks off on September 2nd at American Airlines Center in Dallas. It will make plenty of stops across the U.S. in Houston, Miami, Brooklyn, Chicago and more before wrapping up in New Orleans at Smoothie King Center on October 19th.
Previously, the Baton-Rouge native was arrested on April 16th, 2024, and charged with running a prescription drug fraud ring. He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after guns were found in his home, having already been on house arrest for a gun case.
He pled guilty to ten counts in the prescription drug fraud case and was handed a suspended prison sentence. Then, he pleaded guilty to the gun charges and was sentenced to 23 months.
However, NBA YoungBoy saw a surprise reduction in sentence and was released on March 24th. NBA member OG 3Three took to Instagram to reveal he was no longer a prisoner. Sharing a photo of the two of them, he wrote in the caption, “UHHHHHH OHHHHH MY is finally back home #AllGloryToGod no more #FreeTop #HeHome #Blessed @nba_youngboy.” Rich The Kid, who released a collaborative album with YoungBoy, Nobody Safe, in 2020, also wrote on X, “YB FREE !!!”
NBA YoungBoy recently released his latest single Shot Callin’ on May 3rd, which includes the lyrics: “Tell my opps I got Glocks / and they got built-in beams,” a clear reference to the gun brand.
Tickets for the tour will go on general sale on May 22nd. It will offer a variety of VIP packages for fans to “take their concert experience to the next level”.
