Meek Mill defends Jay-Z amid new underage rape allegations
Although Philadelphia emcee Meek Mill has not been named in any lawsuits, his friendship with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been scrutinised on social media.
That said, the Maybach Music Group rhymer has not held back and most recently commented on the lawsuit that names Jay-Z. Meek Mill took to social media to defend the Brooklyn mogul and expressed his outrage at the press, who he claims are profiting from the recent legal filing against the rapper.
On December 8th, Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee amended a civil lawsuit filed in Southern District of New York courts accusing Jay-Z of allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old female after she was driven to an MTV Video Music Awards after-party hosted by Diddy in 2000.
Mill has since called out the media for adding fuel to the fire, writing on X, “The goal is to start false narrative to create a matrix web. If you can control the storyline, you can control the matrix …. American media is totally unbelievable! I see ‘Jay-Z _ a 13 year old’ girl 300 times scrolling. It’s called programming.” He added, “The rap up smear.”
Meek Mill appeared to be defending Jay-Z in the face of a huge backlash. Still, Jay-Z has already responded to the lawsuit and, on November 8th, through Roc Nation, released a statement asserting that Tony Buzbee is using lawsuits to extort and blackmail him.
The lengthy statement included, “What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”
After reasserting that his “heart and support” goes out to the “true victims,” Jay concluded: “Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable. I look forward to showing you just how different I am.”
Tony Buzbee has been filing paperwork against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs nonstop since the first allegations began to emerge last year. Jay has accused the attorney of unprofessional behaviour and Jay-Z is not the only person unhappy with Buzbee’s conduct concerning playing the legal system.
In a separate statement, Combs’ team addressed Buzbee, calling his suits “shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them, just as lies have been spread about Mr. Combs.”
