Max B’s wife explains how she met the Harlem rapper in prison

Max B was released from prison earlier this month. Following the end of the rapper‘s sentence, his wife has revealed how they met behind bars.

The Harlem icon became a free man on November 9th after serving 16 years on conspiracy charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and felony murder.

During a recent appearance on Cam’ron’s Talk With Flee podcast, his wife explained how they crossed paths through a letter.

“I met him probably like 10 years ago,” she said. “After I read his case, I was compelled to write him. I wanted to give him some type of faith. Ever since I wrote that first letter, we started talking and we got married in February.”

The couple got married in February while Max B was in prison, with the rapper giving her a new ring at a welcome home party.

“It’s been hard,” she said. “There was a lot of times that I didn’t want to stick around. But, it was worth it. People that are on the outside have problems that are already that are not in jail. Imagine the problems that somebody incarcerated [has] and you can really work through them how a normal person would.”

She added, “He can’t call me when he wants to every time. So, sometimes he will be in a hole, and I can’t communicate with him. We wrote a lot through handwritten letters, and I feel that built our bond.”

Max B had been in prison since 2009. He was sentenced to 75 years, but accepted a 20-year plea deal for aggravated manslaughter in 2016.

His new project, Public Domain 7: The First Purge (Patient Zero), is set to arrive on November 28th.
