Max B announces new album ‘Public Domain 7’ following prison release
Max B was only released from prison earlier this month, but the Harlem rapper has already confirmed his first album as a free man.
The 47-year-old got out of jail on November 9th after serving 16 years on conspiracy charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and felony murder.
This week, he announced that his new project, Public Domain 7: The First Purge (Patient Zero), will be released on November 28th.
Public Domain 7 will include 24 tracks from the cult figure and be distributed by EMG Music and Defiant Records.
The Public Domain series has been constant throughout Max B’s his career, including Public Domain: Million Dollar Baby Radio, Public Domain: The Prequel, Public Domain 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Public Domain 3: Domain Pain, Public Domain 5: Quarantine, Public Domain 6: Walking the Plank, and Dopeman: Public Domain 6.5.
His upcoming project will be his first since his Negro Spirituals album was released while he was incarcerated in 2021.
During a recent interview with Billboard, he said, “This the new grown and gorgeous Biggavel, this is the new and improved. This the new, distinguished Biggavel. This ain’t the old Biggavel from before, so you gotta love it. This is what I think is attracting the people like, ‘Damn, we thought this n*gga was gonna come out and do the same shit.”
He added, “He’s a prime example of what you’re supposed to do when you come out. His reentry at its purest form. This man right here: Max Biggavel.”
Max B was imprisoned in 2009 and sentenced to 75 years, but accepted a 20-year plea deal for aggravated manslaughter in 2016. He was behind bars at the Northern State Prison in Newark, New Jersey.
