Max B announces prison release date after 16 years behind bars
Max B has announced that he’ll be released from prison this year. The Harlem rapper has been incarcerated since 2009, but confirmed his freedom this week.
The 47-year-old was sentenced to 75 years on conspiracy charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and felony murder. Then, in 2016, he accepted a 20-year plea deal for aggravated manslaughter.
The French Montana affiliate took to Instagram on September 16th to confirm his release date. “The Wave touches down November 9th, he wrote. “The countdown begins.”
He also posted a letter from the New Jersey State Parole Board, confirming the probation terms of his release.
“Dear Mr Wingate: Please be advised that the New Jersey State Parole Board has received the parole plan acceptance from New York,” the letter began. “You are to be released at the expiration of your maximum sentence as determined by the New Jersey Department of Corrections, to begin service of the five (5) year period of Mandatory Supervision (MSV) component of your sentence.”
The letter concluded, “The Mandatory Supervision (MSV) will commence upon the date of your release and be supervised by the State of New York.”
Max B is currently located at Northern State Prison in Newark, New Jersey. The minimum-maximum security prison holds a maximum of 2615 inmates.
In a video that surfaced of Max reading the letter from jail, he said, “I’m out this motherfucker. Hold on, let me show y’all the letter. This is raw proof, baby. Wingate, Charlie. Out-of-state plan approval. See that? That’s the letter right there.”
He added, “Can’t fake it neither. It got that stamp on it. See that stamp? And it’s signed. See that? Director, division of release. See that?”
