Mac Miller’s 2011 mixtape ‘I Love Life, Thank You’ is now on streaming platforms

Mac Miller’s sixth mixtape, entitled I Love Life, Thank You is now available on the streaming platforms Spotify and Apple Music.

The mixtape features collaborations with Talib Kweli, Bun B, The Come Up and Sir Michael Rocks. It was originally released on October 14th, 2011, after Miller started his “Road 2 a Million Fans” in April 2011.

Miller, at the time, had 300,000 followers on Twitter and announced his aim through the campaign to reach one million followers on the social media service. When he reached 500,000, he released ‘Family First’, his track with Talib Kweli.

At 600,000 followers, Miller released ‘Just A Kid’ and followed this up with ‘The Miller Family Reunion’ at 700,000. The 800,000th milestone saw the release of ‘Cold Feet’, and at 900,000, Miller dropped ‘Willie Dynamite’.

When he finally reached one million followers, Miller dropped the mixtape I Love Life, Thank YouBlue Slide Park, the rapper’s debut album, came a month later. Four more albums followed in Watching Movies with the Sound Off (2013), GO:OD AM (2015), The Divine Feminine (2016) and Swimming (2018), before Miller’s tragic and untimely death.

In September 2018, Miller was found in an unresponsive state at his home in Los Angeles. Paramedics were called, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The doctors determined that Miller had died from an accidental drug overdose containing a combination of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.

Many fans turned out in a vigil for Miller, held at Blue Slide Park in his hometown of Pittsburgh – it was the inspiration for his debut album’s title. Many of his friends and collaborators performed in a tribute concert in October 2018. Miller’s sixth and final full-length album, Circles, was released posthumously in 2020.
