Lil Wayne attends party after bailing on Maine concert due to “sickness”
Lil Wayne was spotted at a party this week after failing to show up to his concert.
Fans were expecting to see Weezy in Bangor, Maine, on June 30th for the first night of his 20 Years of Carter Classics Tour, but he didn’t appear on stage, without warning, due to “sickness.”
However, he was well enough to attend Michael Rubin’s annual Fourth of July White Party on July 2nd.
According to TMZ, Wayne was seen at the event in the Hamptons alongside stars such as DJ Khaled, Alicia Keys, Jake Paul, and Kevin Durant.
The show in Bangor saw 2 Chainz performing as the support act, but Weezy still hadn’t hit the stage by 11pm.
Waterfront Concerts President Alex Gray was forced to go on stage and apologise to the crowd after the DJ played for several hours.
The next morning, Wayne issued a statement to his disappointed fans, claiming he became sick after the concert began.
“Maine, I’m so sorry,” he said. “After last night’s show started, I became too sick to safely perform, and we had to end the show early. The show is being rescheduled to July 28. Please hold on to your tickets, they will be honoured for the rescheduled date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders.”
He added, “Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve.”
Wayne is scheduled to continue his 20 Years of Carter Classics Tour with a show in Saratoga Springs, New York, on July 2nd. Like the Bangor concert earlier this week, Chainz is set to open the show as a guest.
