Lil Wayne fails to show up to concert in Bangor, Maine
Lil Wayne was scheduled to perform in Bangor this week, but failed to show up.
Weezy was set to hit the stage on the Bangor Waterfront in Maine on June 30th after opening act 2 Chainz performed as planned.
It wasn’t until 11pm that fans were told that the New Orleans rapper wouldn’t be performing, with Waterfront Concerts President Alex Gray appearing on stage and apologising to the crowd.
According to WABI, Gray claimed that he asked the city to extend the curfew and did everything to make the show happen after a DJ played for several hours.
On the morning of July 1st, Wayne issued a statement, revealing that he was too sick to perform and was rescheduling the concert for later this month.
In a statement, he said, “Maine, I’m so sorry. After last night’s show started, I became too sick to safely perform, and we had to end the show early. The show is being rescheduled to July 28. Please hold on to your tickets, they will be honoured for the rescheduled date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders.”
He added, “Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve.”
The Bangor show was the first date of Wayne’s 20 Years of Carter Classics Tour, which was announced in March.
His next show is scheduled for Saratoga Springs in New York on July 2nd, but there’s no update on whether he will be well enough to perform.
Chainz and The Game will be supporting him across the North American tour, with shows in Chicago, Columbus, St Louis, Fort Worth, Denver, Nashville, San Antonio, and many other cities.
