Lil Tjay accused of instigating fight that led to Offset shooting
Lil Tjay has been accused of instigating a fight that led to Offset being shot earlier this week.
The Migos rapper was rushed to the hospital on April 6th after being shot in the leg outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
According to TMZ, police say that Tjay “directed members of his party to start a fight with another group of males” at around 7:22pm.
They claim that one of Tjay’s associates pulled out a gun and fired the bullets that injured Offset, who is in stable condition.
Security footage allegedly shows Tjay stepping out of a car and pointing at Offset, before leading his crew over to the rapper. Tjay reportedly filmed the incident on his phone, with the fight taking place until police arrived at the scene.
Tjay was arrested for participating in a fight and charged with misdemeanour disorderly conduct-affray, with his bond set at $500.
After being released from jail, Tjay spoke to reporters, providing his take on the situation.
“The last thing I see was Offset looking at me like this: ‘Yo, that n*gga shot me, that n*gga shot me!’” he said. “N*gga is a rat, n*gga … I didn’t do no damn fighting. Did I shoot? That shit is crazy. I will smack the shit out of Offset. He would never play like that with me in his life. Ask Offset.”
Tjay’s lawyer, Dawn Florio, responded to his comments in a statement to Complex.
“The only thing that Lil Tjay was being looked into for was for creating a disturbance,” she said. “Those are the charges that he’s fighting. As far as I’m aware, there’s no charges related to shooting Offset. There’s video everywhere – there’s no video that shows that Tjay is involved in any of this.”
