Lil Nas X confirms Lizzo collab is “definitely going to happen”

Lil Nas X has said that fans shouldn’t worry, and the much fantasised collaboration with Lizzo is “definitely going to happen”.

Last week, the rapper released his highly anticipated debut album, Montero, which featured appearances from Jack Harlow, Dua Lipa, Elton John, and Megan Thee Stallion, but the lack of Lizzo on the record disappointed some.

During his appearance on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Live Lounge’, the topic was brought up when Nas X was asked a series of quickfire questions. “I was actually talking to Lizzo a few weeks ago [about this]. I feel that it’s definitely going to happen,” he told the station.

“It’s going to be a banger bop, everyone’s going to love it and [Radio 1 is] going to play it 3 billion times,” Nas X added.

The ‘Old Town Road’ singer even went one step further and named his dream collaboration, stating, “I’m feeling Rihanna right now. Rihanna, get in this damn studio.”

Nas X’s ‘Live Lounge’ performance was a rule-breaking one. Usually, artists are restricted to playing their new single and a cover from the broadcaster’s playlist. However, with his star power right now, he can do whatever he wants, and the rapper performed three tracks from his new album plus a take on Dolly Parton classic ‘Jolene’.
