Lil Durk accused of hiding and trying to destroy Apple Watch in jail
Lil Durk has been accused of having an Apple Watch in prison. The Chicago rapper is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.
Durk has been behind bars since October 2024 and was charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death.
In addition, he’s facing one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.
On October 6th, the prosecution filed a motion to request an anonymous jury, which revealed that Durk was recently found in possession of an Apple Watch.
“In late August 2025, BOP officials seized an Apple Watch with cellular capability from defendant,” the motion read. “Even more troubling is Banks’ conduct after he was caught. Rather than accept responsibility for this violation, defendant allegedly obstructed the investigation attempting to damage and/or destroy the communications device.”
The same day, Durk’s legal team attempted to dismiss the case altogether, citing their inability to prepare for the trial due to the prosecutors’ “vague” theory.
“This indictment is impermissibly vague,” they wrote. “It leaves the defence to guess as to the government’s theory of guilt, and it leaves the government free to change that theory as its cooperators’ stories morph over time to meet the demands of a conviction.”
Durk is accused of conspiring to murder rapper Quando Rondo (real name Tyquian Bowman), but instead killing his cousin, Lul Pab (Saviay’a Robinson).
He’s scheduled to be sentenced in January 2026 after his trial was pushed back for a second time in September, facing a possible life sentence.
