Lil Durk’s murder-for-hire trial pushed back to 2026
Lil Durk was scheduled to appear in court on October 14th, 2025, for his murder-for-hire trial. However, the judge has now pushed back the date.
The rapper was arrested on October 17th, 2025, and is accused of conspiring with others to murder rival rapper, Quando Rondo. Instead of the alleged intended target, Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab, was shot and killed in August 2022.
Durk has been charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.
On September 17th, it was announced that the trial will now take place on January 20th, 2026. This is the second time the trial has been delayed, having previously been set for January 7th, 2025.
“The Court has read and considered the Stipulation Regarding Request for (1) Continuance of Trial Date and (2) Findings of Excludable Time Periods Pursuant to Speedy Trial Act, filed by the parties in this matter,” court documents read.
They continued, “The Court hereby finds that the Stipulation, which this Court incorporates by reference into this Order, demonstrates facts that support a continuance of the trial date in this matter, and provides good cause for a finding of excludable time pursuant to the Speedy Trial Act.”
Durk recently opposed the delay. According to Billboard, a filing read, “Defendant Banks does not join in the stipulation to continue the trial in this matter.”
The previous pushback was due to “approximately 230GB of digital evidence,” including “20,000 pages of reports concerning murder and other violent acts, photographs, witness statements, and medical documents.”
