Lil Durk claims FBI informant is giving unreliable information to prosecutors

Lil Durk has accused an FBI informant of being unreliable as he attempts to be released on bond amid his murder-for-hire charges. Durk (real name Durk Banks) was arrested in October relating to the death of Quando Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a ‘Lul Pab’ Robinson, in 2022.

The Chicago rapper was denied bail after showing “a disrespect for the rules” by using 13 other inmates’ phone accounts to make more calls than permitted. This wasn’t the first time he was denied, with his legal team previously suggesting a bail package involving house arrest.

According to AllHipHop, his team has alleged that the government’s case is primarily based on statements from an untrustworthy FBI informant.

Durk’s attorney, Drew Findling, said in a statement, “The government repeatedly cites to allegations from a federal case out of Illinois where Mr Banks has never been charged and never will be charged, despite the passage of over three years since the underlying incident.

“The government’s own exhibit reveals that the allegations pertaining to Mr Banks are based primarily on information from a cooperating human source, ‘CHS 1,’ described in the affidavit as a paid FBI informant and former gang member with a criminal history.”

Durk was charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.

The indictment added two felony charges against Durk after he was previously charged via criminal complaint. His trial is scheduled to begin on October 14th, 2025. If convicted, Durk faces up to life in prison.
