Lil Durk accused of putting $1 million bounty on Quando Rondo
Federal prosecutors have alleged that Lil Durk put a $1 million bounty on fellow rapper Quando Rondo’s head.
Durk has been in prison since October 2024 for his alleged involvement in the death of Rondo’s cousin. The Chicago rapper allegedly conspired with others to kill Rondo, but his family member lost his life instead.
As a result, Durk is facing several charges as part of an alleged murder-for-hire plot, with a potential outcome of life in prison. However, Durk claims he’s innocent.
According to AllHipHop, prosecutors are calling it a “straightforward” murder-for-hire case that went wrong. They claim Durk told his Only the Family crew that anyone who killed Rondo would get “made straight,” which allegedly means getting paid.
Prosecutors claim Durk used “lieutenants” to carry out his demands, allegedly recruiting Marcus ‘Muwop’ Wilson and another man. Wilson allegedly promised the $1 million reward “on behalf on Durk.”
It’s alleged that Durk kept a promise to “make straight” the people who were part of the murder, using rewards such as jewellery and custom grills.
The charges Durk is facing include one count of conspiracy and one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death. There’s also one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.
Durk’s trial is scheduled to begin on April 21st after being pushed back on a number of occasions. He’s currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.
Earlier this month, he was reportedly released from solitary confinement after spending five months in a special housing unit.
