Lawyer representing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs accusers sued for alleged extortion by A-list celebrity
Allegedly, an anonymous male celebrity has sued a lawyer who is representing a number of people who are accusing Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs of sexual assault. The lawsuit is for alleged extortion.
The Houston-based lawyer, Tony Buzbee, has been sued by the anonymous celebrity. The allegations brought against him are serious, essentially claiming that he is taking advantage of the vulnerable position that a lot of the accusers find themselves in.
According to a report by CNN, the celebrity in question is a “celebrity and public figure who resides in Los Angeles.” The lawsuit claims that Buzbee is “shamelessly attempting to extort exorbitant sums from him or else publicly file wildly false horrific allegations against him.”
The lawsuit has been filed under the name John Doe. Their lawyer further states that a letter was sent earlier in November in which Buzbee threatened to “unleash entirely fabricated and salacious allegations of sexual assault.”
The letter said these allegations would include “multiple instances of rape of a minor, both male and female.” The threat was allegedly made in a bid to get the anonymous celebrity to “comply with their demands.”
The lawsuit continued to make accusations against Buzbee, stating that his firm was attempting to target celebrities associated with Diddy to capitalise off the “explosive allegations” against the rapper.
Buzbee has responded to the accusations. In a statement provided to CNN, he said, “If you are trying to hide your identity and you claim you did nothing wrong, [it] doesn’t seem very smart to take this approach.” He continued, “We will address it in due course. I have confidence that with full public disclosure all of this will sort itself out.”
The lawyer is currently representing over 120 people who are alleged victims of the disgraced music mogul. Combs has been held in a federal jail in Brooklyn since he was arrested on September 16th and continues to deny all of the allegations brought against him. Combs has been denied bail on multiple occasions since his arrest.
Rolling Stone reported last week that since being in prison, Combs has broken jail regulations by paying other prisoners to use their phone accounts. Prosecutors state that they have recordings of some of Combs’s calls. Meanwhile, his son, King Combs, has confirmed that he will look after his father’s social media accounts while he remains in prison.
Combs is set to face trial in May 2025 for sex trafficking and racketeering. He denies all accusations of wrongdoing and has pled not guilty.
