Kodak Black released from Orlando jail on strict bail conditions

Kodak Black has been released from jail following his arrest on drug trafficking charges.

The Florida rapper was detained at the Orange County Corrections Department on May 6th, but is now a free man.

According to TMZ, Kodak was released on May 7th after posting $75,000 bail. As part of his jail release, the judge imposed strict bail conditions.

Kodak must stay away from illegal drugs and must not have any contact with his associates. He’s also not allowed to own a firearm or go back to the alleged crime scene.

The 28-year-old rapper is accused of trafficking “METHYLE.-METH (MDMA),” a synthetic drug that acts as a stimulant. Following the arrest, his attorney, Bradford Cohen, claimed the arrest was a coordinated surrender in connection with a November 2025 incident.

The case allegedly involved a police officer searching a vehicle with one passenger who wasn’t Kodak. Police responded to reports of gunshots on a street in Orlando and found two vehicles and Kodak standing at the scene.

Officers found a bag containing a bottle of prescription cough syrup with the rapper’s fingerprints on it. Cohen stated that Kodak is planning to fight the trafficking charge, alleging it has a “weak legal basis.”

In a statement, his lawyer said, “We look forward to yet another fruitful resolution to another case that should have never been filed.”

Kodak was previously arrested on drug possession charges years ago. In July 2022, he was pulled over for window tinting, which was darker than the legal limit. During a search of the vehicle, he was found in possession of 31 oxycodone pills and $74,960 (£63,230) and taken to Broward County Jail.
