Kodak Black arrested on drug possession charges

Kodak Black has landed himself in further controversy as news of his arrest on drug possession charges have recently surfaced.

The charges against the rapper, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, came to light in Florida last week (July 15th) after police pulled him over for window tinting which was darker than the legal limit and thereafter, they found him in possession of drugs.

According to the arrest report, officers found the rapper to be in possession of 31 oxycodone pills and $74,960 (£63,230) in cash during a search. In recent times, the addictive prescription opioid has caused an epidemic that the authorities are hoping to clamp down on.

Thus, Kapri was subsequently arrested for being in possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance without a prescription which landed him in Broward County Jail in Florida without a bond.

However, in the aftermath, his lawyer, Bradford Cohen, has since stated: “Never judge a case based on an arrest. There are facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case. We will get him a bond today and move forward with resolving the matter quickly.”

As of yet, no further updates have been provided on the matter, as his defence look to make bond and fight the charges he has faced. More news is expected in the coming weeks.
