Kodak Black arrested on drug trafficking charges in Florida
Kodak Black has been arrested on drug trafficking charges in Florida.
The 28-year-old artist (real name Bill Kapri) was taken into custody at the Orange County Corrections Department on May 6th.
According to TMZ, he’s accused of trafficking “METHYLE.-METH (MDMA),” a synthetic drug that acts as a stimulant.
His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, claims the arrest was a coordinated surrender related to a November 2025 incident. The case allegedly involved a police officer searching a vehicle with one passenger who wasn’t Kodak.
Police officers found a bag with various items inside, including a bottle of prescription cough syrup with the rapper’s fingerprints on it. Cohen has stated that Kodak plans to fight the trafficking charge, alleging that it has a “weak legal basis.”
In a statement, his attorney said, “We look forward to yet another fruitful resolution to another case that should have never been filed.”
Just last month, the mother of one of Kodak’s children, Jammiah Broomfield, was arrested on multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, resisting an officer without violence, and driving with a suspended license.
She was reportedly found with drugs after a police chase, prompting Kodak to address the situation on social media.
“SMH free my BM again,” he said. “I posted that screenshot of the random ‘extra’ money I just sent they ass ‘only’ to think ahead of the trolling she get, simple due to me being a great father and always setting the example regardless if its intimacy or not !!! Even when my BM’zz hate me real bad I step.”
He added, “On child support and all never complained or undervalued my fam but again the thanks is never as loud as the disrespect.”
