Kid Cudi reveals he’s rebuilding his friendship with Kanye West
Kid Cudi has revealed that he’s mending his relationship with Kanye West.
Cudi and Kanye are longtime friends and collaborators who have experienced an on-and-off friendship over the years.
However, the Cleveland rapper has admitted that they’re currently building trust with each other again.
When a fan asked if they’ll work together in the future, Cudi replied on X, “Im sure we will yea. Right now were rebuilding our friendship. I hit him a week ago to check in on him, today he hit me to check on me. No work talk. Just seeing how I was doing. It was nice.”
As recent as August last year, Cudi spoke about his damaged friendship with Kanye, claiming he was “done” with him.
“It’s a sad thing, you know?” he said. “The freedom that we experienced when we were creating, it just will never happen again, you know? And that is the heartbreaking side of things. But hey, I had a lot of things in my life break my heart and I’ve been able to survive and move past it. I think he has [broken my heart] over and over, multiple times.”
Cudi said that Ye broke “the code of a friendship” and they had failed to repair their relationship.
“We’ve tried [to reconcile] since then, you know? But we always have a falling out,” he said. “He said some things that there’s just no coming back from … I really loved him, he was a part of my life changing. And at some point, he was a really good friend.”
He added, “But the man that he has become, I just don’t know that guy anymore. I don’t know him, I don’t know that version of him, and it’s really heartbreaking.”
